Automotive/Racing/RV Skills

Auto parts have become unbelievably inexpensive, especially when purchased online.  For most jobs there is the right way, which is the only way most professional mechanics will do it, and then there is the good enough way.  Sometimes "good enough" is all one can do with the budget they have to work with.

Brake jobs are a good example of this. The right way is to install new pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines, brake fluid, etc.  That is why you'll pay around $400-$500 for a 2 wheel brake job.  Maybe all you can afford to get by for now is a $25 set of brake pads installed with an hour of your time.
